Nosferatu

After having disappeared for over half a century, he has awoken again to discover that his fellow vampires and his enemies only want one thing: to kill him. But neither the light nor the darkness want Nosferatu, the Undead. He understands that his only weakness was to have once loved. He is Nosferatu, the monster who wanted to live like a man. A comic by Olivier Peru and Stefano Martino.
The first vampire awakens in present day Mumbai after being betrayed in 1945. He gathers his powers for his return and revenge. Also features flashbacks to his time in Caligula's Rome. Fairly standard, perhaps even cliched, vampire book, I certainly think I can see where it's going. But the whole thing comes together fairly nicely with the art to make for a very enjoyable read. There is a second volume. But that hasn't been scanned yet.

The Digedags

The East German publisher Verlag Neues Leben, in East Berlin, had wanted to counter Western comics and magazines with a magazine of their own when Hannes Hegen approached them with his ideas for Mosaik and the Digedags. Reaching an agreement with Neues Leben, Hegen created the first issue of Mosaik for publishing in December 1955. Mosaik was published quarterly until July 1957, when it switched to a monthly schedule that has continued uninterrupted to this day. To support the schedule, the publisher hired additional artists, colorists and writers to support Hegen – a team which became known as the Mosaik-Kollektiv (Mosaik Collective). Only Hegen was credited on the cover, however.

I am Legion

I Am Legion is a comic book miniseries that is the result of a partnerwhip between Devil's Due Publishing and French comic house Humanoids, the original publisher. In it French screenwriter Fabien Nury, and American artists John Cassaday and Laura Martin, team up to bring audiences an elaborate tale set in the latter days of World War II about a young girl whose super power is the center of a secret experiment.
I Am Legion presents an unconventional vampire tale about the Nazi’s race to control the powers of 10-year-old vamp called Ana, while Allied forces scramble to uncover how their own ranks have been infiltrated by Hitler’s elite. This series continues and completes the original series published by DC Comics as a graphic novel in 2004, in which John Cassaday won a 2005 Eisner Award for Best Penciller/Inker for his work on this title (I Am Legion: The Dancing Faun, Aug 2004). Excellent all throughout.
